Copy editing
This is the call out for people who wish to be involved in copy editing.
Note that the copy editing team (people who check over what other people have written for mistakes and potential improvements) is going to be distinct from the site copy team (the people who are writing the stuff in the first pace). However, if you're interested in both, you're allowed -- and encouraged -- to apply for both, and will be able to work on both.
(And it's still not too late to apply for the site copy team. See site copy team.)
If you want to be considered for a position as a copy editor, please go and take a look at http://www.dreamwidth.org/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=4
This is a FAQ that I've written as part of our userdoc process, except it's still only a first draft and hasn't been through any sort of quality control yet. I've also deliberately introduced a few errors just to make sure that it's really bad so you have plenty to work with. :)
I'd like you to go through this FAQ and copy edit it for me. We're looking for corrections of typos, spelling, punctuation, and grammar, and also adherence with our Manual of Style.
Also please make note of anything that you think reads awkwardly, isn't clear or should be reworded for any reason. If you can think of an alternate wording then that's a bonus, but if not, just explain what you think the problem that needs to be addressed is.
After you've copy-edited, send the results to rho in plain text format to rho@rho.me.uk.
